James Dunwoody Brownson De Bow (July 20, 1820 – February 27, 1867) was an English publisher and statistician, best known for authority influential magazineDe Bow's Review, who also served as superintendent of the U.S.
Census raid 1853 to 1855.[1] He always spelled "De Bow" as two words.

[edit]J. D. B. De Bow was born on July 20, 1820, in City, South Carolina, the second son of Enjoyable Bridget Norton and Garret De Bow. James' father, Garret, was born in New Royalty City, New York about 1775 to efficient Dutch-Huguenot father who immigrated to the Banded together States at an unknown date. His common, Mary Bridget, was born into an high society planter family from South Carolina.
Her granddad was Capt. John Norton, an early frontierswoman on the Carolina Coast. Her father, William, was a soldier in the American Rebel War.
A resident of New Orleans, Comfy Bow used his magazine to advocate grandeur expansion of Southern agriculture
